2 Million Bogus Students in Maharashtra school role-Vidarbha Janandolan Samiti writes to Prime Minister's Office-Merinews Reports.
Nagpur-19th october 2011
District Collector of Nanded in Maharashtra who undertook such survey in his district from September 6-10 found that more than 1 lakh 40 thousand of the students were bogus and schools are getting the aid on the basis of these fraudulent students. It is estimated that the final report of state level survey reveales the shocking fact that a progressive state like Maharshtra has made completely mockery of 'Sarwashkisha Abhiyan', and that there are more than 2 million students were found missing from schools, who in fact, were not missing but bogus in order to get aid and staff salary, which is a practice that continues since 1985 after the state government flooded the government-aided schools opened by MLA/Ministers of ruling parties and more than Rs. 20 thousand crore is the amount of this mega scam, which is likely to be the largest scam in Maharashtra since its formation in 1960.
Kishore Tiwari of Vidarbha Janandolan Samiti informed about these facts in a press release, "We are following the survey since it was initiated in Nanded District popularly known as 'Pat Tapasani' and we are not happy with the response of the state government after the report about Nanded was submitted to the state cabinet who decided to conduct the survey throughout state and it was done in Maharashtra with help of more than 1 lakh staff and police force between October 3-5. The final report shows that in Maharashtra more than 2 million students are bogus, and each year the school management is getting bogus grant to the tune of more than Rs.2200 crore amounting to tune of Rs.20 thousands crore in the last 15 years. Hence only CBI can probe and bring out the truth and book all culprits who have made a mockery of education in Maharashtra. We are expecting the Maharashtra chief minister Prithviraj Chavan, who has ordered such a massive survey and brought the truth before the nation, will ask the centre for a CBI probe in alleged irregularities and this bogus student scam. We are planning to move the high court if PMO rejects our demand. We are hopeful that the state government will take steps to curb this massive corruption in its next cabinet meeting."=====================================================================
